Back in 1986, a group of local, dedicated parents created Barrenjoey Montessori School with a foundational belief that children deserved the best education possible, taught in a way that fosters self-esteem, independence and mutual respect.
Our wonderful environment, behind the sand dunes of Avalon, has developed into a centre of excellence, serving hundreds of children and their families over the years. In 2007 we were able to add to our community by starting an exemplary toddler program for children under 3 and their parents.
Our dedicated and experienced directresses and staff foster a love of learning that stays with our children throughout their lives.
We have reached saturation point on our site in Avalon for 3 to 6 year olds and each year reluctantly have to turn away disappointed families.
Deciding to pursue a Montessori education for your child is a positive and thoughtful decision, which we fully acknowledge and respect.
It is our deepest wish to be able to offer a place to each and every family who recognises the immense, life-long value of a Montessori education and it is for this reason that we are now earnestly exploring possibilities for expanding our school community.
In the immediate short term, we need to be able to provide places for the 2009 waitlist in its entirety.
