Position: Head of School

Barrenjoey Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic, visionary Head of School, committed to the highest principles of Montessori education.

Our school is a beautifully equipped, purpose built, community school, nestled in the natural surrounds of sand dunes and public reserve at the north end of Avalon Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Barrenjoey Montessori School is committed to the highest standard of Montessori education.  The school currently serves approximately 40 children in our 3 – 6 environment and 24 children in our under 3s program. Both of these environments are led by AMI trained professionals, with training in the appropriate age group.

Our school is at an exciting stage of development, and we are seeking a leader to drive and manage a significant expansion.   To serve a growing waitlist, the school is adding a second 3-6 environment in 2010 and is planning to launch a program for 6 – 12 year olds in 2012.

The successful candidate will have qualifications recognised by the NSW Institute of Teachers and preferably an AMI qualification for 6 - 12yr olds.  Additionally, accreditation with the NSW Institute of Teachers is highly desirable.  Interstate and International candidates with equivalent credentials are also encouraged to apply.
The intended start date for this position is Term 1, 2011, or earlier on a part-time basis.
