Barrenjoey Montessori School is a well established Montessori school located in the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney. Barrenjoey has enjoyed strong enrolments for both the 3 – 6 programme and under 3s parent toddler group since 1985 and 2005 respectively.
In 2010 the school was successful in securing funds from the BER government initiative to build a purpose built new learning environment on the main campus near the sand dunes of Avalon. The school has commenced the exciting expansion journey which will include the opening of a 6 – 9 primary classroom in January 2012.
We are currently inviting expressions of interest from an appropriately trained Montessori director to be instrumental in initiating this project. This person must be an inspired and passionate individual who has the dedication, time and interest to head up the programme with the support of the current staff.
The School Board has employed a Principal to assist the successful candidate in the implementation of this programme.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree and/or Graduate Diploma of Education. Prospective applicants must be eligible for teacher registration in New South Wales as prescribed by the Institute of Teachers.
• 6-12 Montessori AMI Diploma, however trained 6 – 9 diploma holders with experience will be considered
• Current First Aid Training
• Ability work successfully as a team member
• Capacity to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate to parents and the wider community
Barrenjoey will assist with international or interstate relocation if required.
The proposed date for commencement is February 2012 and interested candidates are encouraged to be available for commitment or consultation in 2011.

We are looking for a trained Montessori director to facilitate this popular programme which includes the attendance of both the child and the parent/carer.
The programme currently operates on 2 mornings per week and has a purpose built environment adjoining the 3 - 6 classrooms. There is definite potential to expand this programme.
The school would be interested in hearing from any persons with appropriate qualifications, passion and enthusiasm. Candidates would be required to commence in early September.
