Our school is expanding!

expanding

Our current school in Avalon was made possible by the enormous generosity of our benefactor, Thomas Morgan, who in 1988 loaned the school the funds for the building. This interest-free loan was set up as a Trust Fund and the school still repays the loan, long after Mr Morgan's death. The repayments are distributed to his nominated charity.

With a limited number of 37 places but a high demand for Montessori education on the Northern Beaches, it was with a sad heart and great regret that many families had to be turned away over the years.

However, in May 2009, our school received a generous grant of $250,000 from the government's Building Education Revolution program.

The expansion plans are thus making real and exciting progress toward our vision of opening an additional 3-6 year old classroom (60 places in total) and relocating our Under 3s from the temporary housing in Bayview to the Avalon campus.

Our plan is to ensure completion of the new building during the 2009/2010 summer school holidays, and we are aiming for a Term 1 start in 2010!
