BARRENJOEY PRIMARY PROGRAMME WILL COMMENCE TERM 1 2012

Congratulations to all and let us not forget the past parents and alumni who worked hard to ensure that this would be a possibility. Now it is a reality.

Kate Jeffery has accepted the position and is enthusiastically looking forward to her commencement at the school and the opportunity to create a 6-9 environment of excellence in Avalon. In mainstream terminology, this translates to Year 1 and 2 in 2012. Year 3 to be introduced in 2013.

Enrolments are still open. We will consider children who have left and might like to return - please tell your friends. We will consider children who have not had the opportunity to attend a 3- 6 Montessori environment on a case by case basis but numbers will be very limited.

Kate has twenty-two years of experience and her reputation for creating a beautiful environment that enthuses and engages children in all areas of the curriculum whilst honouring the needs of each individual during their primary years has been consistently commented on by her past students, parents and work colleagues.

We are currently arranging a date when Kate can come to the school - we will let you know asap.

Barrenjoey Montessori School in Northern Beaches Set To Open a New Primary School in 2012

Barrenjoey Montessori School will be offering families of the Northern Beaches the opportunity to extend their Montessori schooling beyond the pre-school and kindergarten years. The school will now offer a Montessori education for children 18 months to 8 years of age from 2012.

Since the beginning the year we have been requesting expressions of interest from trained and experienced Montessori 6 - 12 teachers. Once we were given Registration by the Board of Studies, we revisited the applicants and have some excellent and very experienced applications from both here and overseas.

The next step is to ensure that we have the students who will benefit and excel in this stimulating environment that caters for the 6 - 9 year old child's fascination with the bigger picture and quest to discover their wider universe.

The excitement of the materials, resources and the Great Stories results in a self-motivated and enthusiastic learner who embraces all areas of the curriculum with equal enthusiasm. Imagine never being bored at school!

Barrenjoey Montessori Primary School Now Registered for K - 2!

BMS is pleased to announce that we are now registered for years K - 2 with the NSW Board of Studies!

This means Barrenjoey Montessori Primary School can now become a reality in 2012. More details to follow soon.

0 - 3 Trained Montessori Director

We are looking for a trained Montessori director to facilitate this popular programme which includes the attendance of both the child and the parent/carer. The programme currently operates on 2 mornings per week and has a purpose built environment adjoining the 3 - 6 classrooms. There is definite potential to expand this programme. Apply now!
